The Plan the Prep and clean Fit – July 18 – 23 2021

The first post of our latest adventure 🙂
The intent – Get Kaitlyn to Halifax and set her up for University
U-Haul wants $6500 one way for a truck.  Crazy.  We decided to buy her furniture with Ikea Halifax.  We can leave it there for another after school.
All we need to bring is KT’s stuff.  The Fit was tested to easily hold 18 decent sized boxes with 2 adults in the front.  Time for a road trip.
Silvia and I drive with her stuff.  With our bikes on back we can ride in the cities we stay in along the day
Kaitlyn and Michelle fly in on August 2nd
Our route going east is

Our route going west is

My car has not been this clean since it was new.
The plan is to have a roof bag on top.
Concerned about scratching the roof, I’ve waxed it multiple times.
Ken, my trust friend and Honda mechanic discovered it was time for front pads and rotors.  Whew, this explains why my brake pedal was so low.  Everything else checked out.  Ken also recommended really cleaning the windshield with a razor blade, using Rain-X and even removing the headlight oxidation with a kit.  What a difference it made
I anticipate having so much of Kaitlyn’s stuff that I wont be able to see out of the back Windows.  I borrowed a Dash Cam with a rear camera and did a quicky install.
Secure for now and easily removed once I can see again
No point in hiding the wiring
Tried mounting it in other places but this is the safest location
